About Us
Welcome to Cosmos Camping.
We look forward to sharing this beautiful part of the world with you.
Bob & Alex
Bob and I moved to Wales during the pandemic, when both our industries stalled overnight - Bob worked in theatre and I in events. Having dreamed of a smallholding in the countryside for many years, we recognised that this was our opportunity to 'break out' so we sold up near London and set off on our great big Welsh adventure.
Our first glimpse of the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) was driving over the Black Mountain Road with its dramatic and epic views. We knew immediately that we wanted to live here. Within three months we had made the move and quickly settled in, taming the wilderness around us into a cosy campsite.
Bob and I like to think that "if Carlsberg did campsites", it would be like Cosmos Camping. Quiet, tranquil, stunning mountain views, epic night skies and fluffy balls of sheep scattered across your horizon but just not in your tent! Actually, the local sheep do frequently break in but that just adds to the experience, and 'encouraging' them off site makes for entertaining film footage.
The name 'Cosmos Camping' reflects our unique location within one of the world's few Dark Sky Reserves and offers some incredible night skies for stargazing. 'Cosmo' is also the name of our dog, so technically it is his campsite although he happily shares it with us, our campers and our recently adopted rescue pup 'Ursa'. As you might have guessed, we are very dog friendly.
Life here is a lot of fun. It is also a place of extreme beauty and calm. We love sharing this with our campers and want them to feel like they have joined a very special club, one they can come back and visit whenever they want or feel the need.
